Nigeria’s pioneer technology company, Chams Holdco Plc, has marked a significant milestone, its 40th anniversary, with a week-long celebration that honoured its journey of innovation, resilience, and leadership in Africa’s digital transformation landscape.
Founded in 1985, Chams has evolved from a modest start-up into a leading force in identity management, payment solutions, and technology innovation. The anniversary celebration, which culminated on September 19, 2025, brought together employees, alumni, partners, clients,industry leaders, and stakeholders to celebrate four decades of achievements and look ahead to an exciting future.
The anniversary week featured themed activities that reflected the company’s culture of creativity, teamwork, and community spirit. Staff kicked off the celebrations with Corporate Monday, displaying professionalism and elegance, followed by a more relaxed Denim Tuesday filled with bonding and games. Ankara Wednesday showcased Nigeria’s rich cultural heritage, while Jersey Thursday brought a fun, competitive energy to the workplace.
The highlight of the celebrations was the Grand Anniversary Event, attended by distinguished guests, including Sir Demola Aladekomo, Chairman, Chams Holdco Plc; Mrs Mayowa Olaniyan, Group Managing Director, Chams Holdco Plc; Most Revd. Mrs Titi Aladekomo, Co-Founder Chams Holdco Plc; Prof. Adebayo Akinde, First Chairman Chams Holdco Plc; Dr. (Mrs)Ajoritsedere Awosika, MFR, mni, former Chairman Chams Holdco Plc; and executives from Chams’ subsidiaries.
In his keynote remarks, Sir Demola Aladekomo expressed gratitude to God, the company’s dedicated workforce, and its loyal partners and clients for their support over the decades. He reflected on Chams’ journey, from its pioneering early days to becoming a critical player in Africa’s digital economy.
Mrs Mayowa Olaniyan, Group Managing Director,re-affirmed the company’s mission: “For 40 years, our commitment has been to create technology that transforms lives and empowers businesses. As we move into the next chapter, we remain dedicated to building Africa’s digital future.”
The celebrations concluded with a Thanksgivingservice on September 21, where staff, partners, and friends gathered to give thanks for the company’s accomplishments and pray for continued growth.
Looking ahead, Chams Holdco is transitioning into Chams Corp Plc, signalling a new era focused on expanding its footprint in digital identity, payment infrastructure, fintech innovation, and enterprise solutions across Africa.
